وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏

"‏ لاَ يُجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا وَلاَ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا ‏"

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z-Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said "One cannot be married to a woman and her paternal aunt, or a woman and her maternal aunt at the same time."

Reported by Malik (No. 1114), Al-Bukhari (No. 5109), Muslim (No. 1408a, 1408b, 1408d, 1408i, 1408j), An-Nasa’i (No. 3288, 3289, 3291), Ahmad (No. 8836, 9573, 9614, 10272, 10294, 10299, 10424, 10466) and Ad-Darimi (No. 2084).

Abu al-Walid al-Baji — Al-Muntaqa

( ش ) : قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يُجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا وَلَا بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا يَقْتَضِي الْعُمُومَ مِنْ جِهَةِ اللَّفْظِ غَيْرَ أَنَّ التَّحْرِيمَ إِذَا عُلِّقَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ فَإِنَّ الْمَفْهُومَ مِنْهُ الْوَطْءُ كَمَا أَنَّهُ إِذَا عُلِّقَ عَلَى الطَّعَامِ فُهِمَ مِنْهُ اللِّبَاسُ فَيَجِبُ أَنْ يُحْمَلَ عَلَى الْوَطْءِ أَوْ عَلَى كُلِّ مَعْنًى مَقْصُودُهُ الْوَطْءُ فَأَمَّا الْوَطْءُ فَإِنَّهُ يُمْلَكُ بِيَمِينٍ وَأَمَّا الْعَقْدُ الَّذِي مَقْصُودُهُ الْوَطْءُ فَإِنَّهُ النِّكَاحُ وَيُخَالِفُ فِي ذَلِكَ مِلْكَ الْيَمِينِ فَإِنَّهُ يَجُوزُ لِلْإِنْسَانِ أَنْ يَمْلِكَ مَنْ لَا يَطَأُ كَالْأُخْتِ مِنْ الرَّضَاعَةِ وَالْخَالَةِ وَالْعَم…

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "A woman and her paternal aunt should not be married to the same man; and similarly, a woman and her maternal aunt should not be married to the same man."

لاَ يُجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا، وَلاَ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا ‏"

Authentic Muttafaq ‘alayh (Bukhari and Muslim) Sahih Muslim 1408a

One should not combine a woman and her father's sister, nor a woman and her mother's sister in marriage.

لاَ يُجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا وَلاَ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا‏"‏ ‏.‏

Authentic Muttafaq ‘alayh (Bukhari and Muslim) Sahih Muslim 1408b

that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade combining of four women in marriage: a woman with her father's sister, and a woman with her mother's sister.

نَهَى عَنْ أَرْبَعِ نِسْوَةٍ أَنْ يُجْمَعَ بَيْنَهُنَّ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا ‏.‏

So we regarded the paternal aunt of her (wife's) father and the maternal aunt of her (wife's) father at the same level.

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade to combine a woman and her father's sister, and a woman and her mother's sister.

One may not combine in marriage a woman and her paternal aunt, or a woman and her maternal aunt

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One may not combine in marriage a woman and her paternal aunt, or a woman and her maternal aunt."

"‏ لاَ يُجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا وَلاَ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا ‏"
