Musnad Ahmad 5318

'Umar b. Muhammad b. Zaid reported that he heard his father narrating from Ibn 'Umar that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had said. If bad luck is a fact, then it is in the horse, the woman and the house.

إِنْ يَكُنْ مِنَ الشُّؤْمِ شَىْءٌ حَقٌّ فَفِي الْفَرَسِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ ‏"

Narrated by Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Shu'ba with the same chain of transmitters but there is no mention of the word" Haqq"" (fact).

وَحَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ ‏"‏ حَقٌّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "There is no infection and no evil omen; but if there is anything (that may be a source of trouble) then it could be a house, a horse, and a woman." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

"‏لا عدوى ولا طِيَرة، وإن كان الشؤم في شيء ففي الدار والمرأة، والفرس‏"

Narrated by Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar + 1 other version

the Messenger of Allah said: "If it exists, it is in three things: a horse, and woman and a house," meaning omens.

"‏ إِنْ كَانَ فَفِي الْفَرَسِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالْمَسْكَنِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ يَعْنِي الشُّؤْمَ ‏.‏

Narrated by Sahl ibn Sa‘d + 4 other versions

If there be bad luck, it is in the house, and the wife, and the horse.

الشُّؤْمُ فِي الدَّارِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالْفَرَسِ ‏"

I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying. "Evil omen is in three things: The horse, the woman and the house."

إِنَّمَا الشُّؤْمُ فِي ثَلاَثَةٍ فِي الْفَرَسِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ ‏"

Narrated by Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar + 1 other version

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said "If there is any evil omen in anything, then it is in the woman, the horse and the house."

إِنْ كَانَ فِي شَىْءٍ فَفِي الْمَرْأَةِ وَالْفَرَسِ وَالْمَسْكَنِ ‏"

Narrated by Sahl ibn Sa‘d

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Evil omen is in the women, the house and the horse.'

فِي الْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ وَالْفَرَسِ ‏"
