حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْبَتِّيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ جَدَّهُ أَسْلَمَ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَمْ تُسْلِمْ جَدَّتُهُ وَلَهُ مِنْهَا ابْنٌ فَاخْتَصَمَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنْ شِئْتُمَا خَيَّرْتُمَا الْغُلَامَ قَالَ وَأَجْلَسَ الْأَبَ فِي نَاحِيَةٍ وَالْأُمَّ نَاحِيَةً فَخَيَّرَهُ فَانْطَلَقَ نَحْوَ أُمِّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِهِ قَالَ فَرَجَعَ إِلَى أَبِيهِ
