حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْإِيمَانُ فِي أَهْلِ الْحِجَازِ وَغِلَظُ الْقُلُوبِ وَالْجَفَاءُ فِي الْفَدَّادِينَ فِي أَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ

Jabir reported God's messenger as saying, "Harsh hearts and roughness are to be found in the east, but faith among the people of the Hijaz." Muslim transmitted it.
