Chapter: Abrogation of wudu’ for that which has been touched by fire

Authentic hadith of Sahih Muslim Sahih Muslim 355b

Narrator:Ibn ‘Abbās

حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

يَحْتَزُّ مِنْ كَتِفِ شَاةٍ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا فَدُعِيَ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ فَقَامَ وَطَرَحَ السِّكِّينَ وَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ

Ja'far b. 'Amr b. Umayya al-Damari reported on the authority of his father who said:

I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) take slices from goat's shoulder and then eat them. He was called for prayer and he got'up, leaving aside the knife, and offered prayer but did not perform ablution.

An-Nawawi — Sharh Sahih Muslim

قَوْله : ( يُحْتَزّ مِنْ كَنَف شَاة ) فِيهِ جَوَاز قَطْع اللَّحْم بِالسِّكِّينِ وَذَلِكَ تَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ الْحَاجَة لِصَلَابَةِ اللَّحْم أَوْ كِبَر الْقِطْعَة. قَالُوا : وَيُكْرَه مِنْ غَيْر حَاجَة. قَوْله ( فَدُعِيَ إِلَى الصَّلَاة فَقَامَ فَطَرَحَ السِّكِّين وَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأ ) فِي هَذَا دَلِيل عَلَى جَوَاز بَلْ اِسْتِحْبَاب اِسْتِدْعَاء الْأَئِمَّة إِلَى الصَّلَاة إِذَا حَضَرَ وَقْتهَا. وَفِيهِ أَنَّ الشَّهَادَة عَلَى النَّفْي تُقْبَل إِذَا كَانَ الْمَنْفِيّ مَحْصُورًا مِثْل هَذَا , وَفِيهِ أَنَّ الْوُضُوء مِمَّا مَسَّتْ النَّار لَيْسَ بِوَاجِبٍ , وَفِي ( السِّكِّين ) لُغَتَانِ التَّذْكِير وَالتَّأْنِيث , يُقَال سِكِّين جَيِّد , وَجَيِّدَة , سُمِّيَتْ سِكِّينًا لِتَسْكِينِهَا حَر…
