حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا، يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

يَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسِ مَكَاكِيكَ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ ‏.‏

Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace he upon him) took a bath with five Makkuks of water and performed ablution with one Makkuk. Ibn Muthanna has used the words five Makakiyya, and Ibn Mu'adh narrated it from 'Abdullah b. 'Abdullah and he made no mention of Ibn Jabr.

قَوْله : ( عَنْ عَبْد اللَّه بْن جَبْر ) وَفِي الرِّوَايَة الْأُخْرَى ( عَنْ اِبْن جَبْر ) هَذَا كُلّه صَحِيح , وَقَدْ أَنْكَرَهُ عَلَيْهِ بَعْض الْأَئِمَّة , وَقَالَ : صَوَابه ( اِبْن جَابِر ) , وَهَذَا غَلَط مِنْ هَذَا الْمُعْتَرِض , بَلْ يُقَال : فِيهِ جَابِر , وَجَبْر , وَهُوَ عَبْد اللَّه بْن عَبْد اللَّه بْن جَابِر بْن عَتِيك , وَمِمَّنْ ذَكَرَ الْوَجْهَيْنِ فِيهِ الْإِمَام أَبُو عَبْد اللَّه الْبُخَارِيّ , وَأَنَّ مِسْعَرًا وَأَبَا الْعُمَيْسِ وَشُعْبَة وَعَبْد اللَّه بْن عِيسَى يَقُولُونَ فِيهِ ( جَبْر ). وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَم. قَوْله : ( كَانَ رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَغْتَسِل بِخَمْسِ مَكَاكِيك وَيَتَوَضَّأ بِمَكُّوكٍ ) وَفِي رِوَايَة ( بِخَمْسِ مُكَاكِيّ ) بِتَش…

Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) took the bath of Janaba (sexual relation or wet dream) he asked for the Hilab or some other scent. He used to take it in his hand, rub it first over the right side of his head and then over the left and then rub the middle of his head with both hands.

دَعَا بِشَىْءٍ نَحْوَ الْحِلاَبِ، فَأَخَذَ بِكَفِّهِ، فَبَدَأَ بِشِقِّ رَأْسِهِ الأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ الأَيْسَرِ، فَقَالَ بِهِمَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ‏.‏

`Aisha's brother and I went to `Aisha and he asked her about the bath of the Prophet. She brought a pot containing about a Sa` of water and took a bath and poured it over her head and at that time there was a screen between her and us.

فَدَعَتْ بِإِنَاءٍ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَاعٍ، فَاغْتَسَلَتْ وَأَفَاضَتْ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا، وَبَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهَا حِجَابٌ‏.‏
