Narrator:Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ

الْعَبْدَ إِذَا نَصَحَ لِسَيِّدِهِ وَأَحْسَنَ عِبَادَةَ اللَّهِ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ ‏"

Ibn Umar reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

When a slave looks to the welfare of his master and worships Allah well, he has two rewards for him.

Reported by Muslim (No. 1664a, 1664b), Abu Dawud (No. 5169) and Malik (No. 1809).

Explanation in Arabic

في هذا الحديث بيان فضل الله على العبد الذي يُؤدي حق ربه بفعل الطاعات، وحق سيده بخدمته ورعاية مصالحه، وأنَّه ينال بذلك الأجر مرتين.

فضل المملوك الذي يُؤدي حق الله وحق مواليه.
أنَّ العبد راعٍ في مال سيده وهو مسؤول عن رعيته.
صلاح العبد يكون بإحسان العبادة والنصح للسيد.

Malik related to me from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "When a slave gives good counsel to his master and worships Allah correctly, he has his reward twice over. "

"‏ الْعَبْدُ إِذَا نَصَحَ لِسَيِّدِهِ وَأَحْسَنَ عِبَادَةَ اللَّهِ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ ‏"

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "When a slave is sincere to his master and worships Allah well, He will have a double reward." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

"‏إن العبد إذا نصح لسيده، وأحسن عبادة الله، فله أجره مرتين‏"

Authentic Mishkat al-Masabih 3348

‘Abdallah b. ‘Umar reported God’s Messenger as saying, “When a slave acts sincerely towards his master and worships God well, he has a double reward.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا نَصَحَ لِسَيِّدِهِ وَأَحْسَنَ عِبَادَةَ اللَّهِ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهُ مرَّتَيْنِ»

When a slave fulfils obligation of Allah and obligation of his master, he has two rewards for him. I narrated this to Ka'b, and Ka'b said: (Such a slave) has no accountability, nor has a poor believer.

It is good for a slave that he worships Allah well, and serves his master (well). It is good for him.

نِعِمَّا لِلْمَمْلُوكِ أَنْ يُتَوَفَّى يُحْسِنُ عِبَادَةَ اللَّهِ وَصَحَابَةَ سَيِّدِهِ نِعِمَّا لَهُ ‏"
