Chapter: The reward of a slave who is sincere towards his master and worships Allah properly

Narrator:Abu Hurayrah

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، قَالَ هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏

نِعِمَّا لِلْمَمْلُوكِ أَنْ يُتَوَفَّى يُحْسِنُ عِبَادَةَ اللَّهِ وَصَحَابَةَ سَيِّدِهِ نِعِمَّا لَهُ ‏"

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

It is good for a slave that he worships Allah well, and serves his master (well). It is good for him.

Reported by Muslim (No. 1667) and Ahmad (No. 7885).

An-Nawawi — Sharh Sahih Muslim

قَوْله صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ( نِعِمَّا لِلْمَمْلُوكِ أَنْ يُتَوَفَّى يُحْسِن عِبَادَة اللَّه وَصَحَابَة سَيِّده ) أَمَّا ( نِعِمَّا ) فَفِيهَا : ثَلَاث لُغَات قُرِئَ بِهِنَّ فِي السَّبْع : إِحْدَاهَا : كَسْر النُّون مَعَ إِسْكَان الْعَيْن , وَالثَّانِيَة : كَسْرهمَا , وَالثَّالِثَة : فَتْح النُّون مَعَ كَسْر الْعَيْن وَالْمِيم مُشَدَّدَة فِي جَمِيع ذَلِكَ , أَيْ : نِعْمَ شَيْء هُوَ , وَمَعْنَاهُ : نِعْمَ مَا هُوَ , فَأُدْغِمَتْ الْمِيم فِي الْمِيم قَالَ الْقَاضِي : وَرَوَاهُ الْعَزَرِيّ ( نُعْمًا ) بِضَمِّ النُّون مُنَوَّنًا , وَهُوَ صَحِيحٌ أَيْ : لَهُ مَسَرَّة وَقُرَّة عَيْن , يُقَال : نُعْمًا لَهُ وَنِعْمَة لَهُ. قَوْله صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ( يُحْسِن عِبَادَة ا…
