Take this curtain of yours away, for its images come to my mind while I'm praying

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: ‘Ā'ishah had a (patterned) curtain with which she screened the side of her home. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Take this curtain of yours away, for its images come to my mind while I'm praying."

أَمِيطِي عَنَّا قِرَامَكِ هَذَا، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ تَزَالُ تَصَاوِيرُهُ تَعْرِضُ فِي صَلاَتِي ‏"

Narrated by Anas ibn Mālik Explained

Aisha had a thick curtain (having pictures on it) and she screened the side of her i house with it. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to her, "Remove it from my sight, for its pictures are still coming to my mind in my prayers."

أَمِيطِي عَنِّي، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ تَزَالُ تَصَاوِيرُهُ تَعْرِضُ لِي فِي صَلاَتِي ‏"

'Aishah (RA) had a Qiram (a soft piece of cloth with colours) with which she had screened one side of her house. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Take away this Qiram of yours, for its pictures are displayed in front of me during my prayer." [Reported by al-Bukhari].

وَعَنْهُ قَالَ : { كَانَ قِرَامٌ لِعَائِشَةَ ‏-رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا‏- سَتَرَتْ بِهِ جَانِبَ بَيْتِهَا فَقَالَ اَلنَّبِيُّ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-أَمِيطِي عَنَّا قِرَامَكِ هَذَا , فَإِنَّهُ لَا تَزَالُ تَصَاوِيرُهُ…

When I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) in his house, I saw him sitting reclining on a pillow. The narrator Ibn al-Jarrah added: "on his left side". Abu Dawud said: Ishaq b. Mansur transmitted it from Isra'il, also mentioning the words "on his left side".

Take it (away) from me (from my sight), so I removed it and made cushions from that.

I never used to leave in the Prophet (ﷺ) house anything carrying images or crosses but he obliterated it.

لَمْ يَكُنْ يَتْرُكُ فِي بَيْتِهِ شَيْئًا فِيهِ تَصَالِيبُ إِلاَّ نَقَضَهُ‏.‏

Aisha said that she hung a curtain decorated with pictures (of animals) on a cupboard. The Prophet (ﷺ) tore that curtain and she turned it into two cushions which remained in the house for the Prophet (ﷺ) to sit on.

أَنَّهَا كَانَتِ اتَّخَذَتْ عَلَى سَهْوَةٍ لَهَا سِتْرًا فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ، فَهَتَكَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَاتَّخَذَتْ مِنْهُ نُمْرُقَتَيْنِ، فَكَانَتَا فِي الْبَيْتِ يَجْلِسُ عَلَيْهِمَا‏.‏

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came back from the journey and I had screened my door with a curtain having portraits of winged horses upon it. He commanded me and I pulled it away.
