حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّمَا هُوَ حذية مِنْكَ ‏"

It was narrated that Abu Umamah said:

"The Messenger of Allah was asked about touching the penis and he said: 'Rather it is a piece of you (your body).'"

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan Ibn Majah

قَوْله ( إِنَّمَا هُوَ حِذْيَة مِنْك ) الْحِذْيَة بِكَسْرِ الْحَاء الْمُهْمَلَة وَسُكُون الذَّال الْمُعْجَمَة بَعْدهَا يَاء مُثَنَّاة مِنْ تَحْت مَا قُطِعَ طُولًا مِنْ اللَّحْم أَوْ الْقِطْعَة الصَّغِيرَة وَفِي بَعْض النُّسَخ جُزْء وَفِي بَعْضهَا حِذْوَة بِكَسْرِ الْحَاء وَسُكُون الذَّال الْمُعْجَمَة بَعْدهَا وَاو بِمَعْنَى الْقِطْعَة مِنْ اللَّحْم وَفِي الزَّوَائِد فِي إِسْنَاده جَعْفَر بْن الزُّبَيْر وَقَدْ اِتَّفَقُوا عَلَى تَرْك حَدِيثه وَاتَّهَمُوهُ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَم.…

A man said: “I touched my penis” or he said, “Does a man who touch his penis during the prayer should perform Wudu (ablution)?” The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, “No, it is only a part of your body”. [Reported by Al-Khamsa. Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (sound).
