Chapter: What was narrated concerning the tooth stick and kohl for one who is fasting

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
" مِنْ خَيْرِ خِصَالِ الصَّائِمِ السِّوَاكُ "
It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“One of the best actions of the fasting person is using the tooth stick.”
Reported by Ibn Majah (No. 1677).

قَوْله ( مِنْ خَيْر خِصَال الصَّائِم السِّوَاك ) أَيْ اِسْتِعْمَاله وَإِطْلَاقه يَشْمَل أَوَّل النَّهَار وَآخِره وَفِي الزَّوَائِد فِي إِسْنَاده مُجَاهِد وَهُوَ ضَعِيف لَكِنْ لَهُ شَاهِد مِنْ حَدِيث عَامِر بْن رَبِيعَة رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ.…
