Chapter: "I have been sent, and the Hour as these two"

Authentic hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari Muttafaq ‘alayh (Bukhari and Muslim) Sahih al-Bukhari 6503

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏

بُعِثْتُ أَنَا وَالسَّاعَةَ هَكَذَا ‏"

Narrated Sahl:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "I have been sent and the Hour (is at hand) as these two," showing his two fingers and sticking (separating) them out.

Reported by Al-Bukhari (No. 6503) and Muslim (No. 2950).

قَوْله : ( عَنْ سَهْل ) فِي رِوَايَة سُفْيَان عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ سَمِعْت مِنْ سَهْل بْن سَعْد صَاحِب رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا تَقَدَّمَ فِي كِتَابِ اللِّعَانِ. قَوْله ( بُعِثْت أَنَا وَالسَّاعَة ) الْمُرَاد بِالسَّاعَةِ هُنَا يَوْم الْقِيَامَة , وَالْأَصْل فِيهَا قِطْعَةٌ مِنْ الزَّمَانِ , وَفِي عُرْف أَهْل الْمِيقَاتِ جُزْء مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ جُزْءًا مِنْ الْيَوْم وَاللَّيْلَة , وَثَبَتَ مِثْلُهُ فِي حَدِيث جَابِرٍ رَفَعَهُ " يَوْم الْجُمُعَة اِثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ سَاعَةً " وَقَدْ بَيَّنْت حَالَهُ فِي كِتَاب الْجُمُعَة , وَأَطْلَقْت فِي الْحَدِيثِ عَلَى اِنْخِرَامِ قَرْنِ الصَّحَابَةِ فَفِي صَحِيح مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ " كَانَ الْأَعْرَابُ يَسْأَلُونَ رَس…
