حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ قُلْتُ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَمَلُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم هَلْ كَانَ يَخُصُّ شَيْئًا مِنَ الأَيَّامِ قَالَتْ

لاَ، كَانَ عَمَلُهُ دِيمَةً، وَأَيُّكُمْ يَسْتَطِيعُ مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَسْتَطِيعُ‏.‏

Narrated 'Alqama:

I asked `Aisha, mother of the believers, "O mother of the believers! How were the deeds of the Prophet? Did he use to do extra deeds of worship on special days?" She said, "No, but his deeds were regular and constant, and who among you is able to do what the Prophet (ﷺ) was able to do (i.e. in worshipping Allah)?"

قَوْله ( جَرِير ) هُوَ اِبْن عَبْد الْحَمِيد , وَمَنْصُور هُوَ اِبْن الْمُعْتَمِر , وَإِبْرَاهِيم هُوَ النَّخَعِيُّ , وَعَلْقَمَة هُوَ اِبْن قَيْس وَهُوَ خَال إِبْرَاهِيم , وَالسَّنَد كُلّه إِلَى عَائِشَة كُوفِيُّونَ. قَوْله ( هَلْ كَانَ يَخُصّ شَيْئًا مِنْ الْأَيَّام ) أَيْ بِعِبَادَةٍ مَخْصُوصَة لَا يَفْعَل مِثْلهَا فِي غَيْره ( قَالَتْ لَا ) , وَقَدْ اِسْتَشْكَلَ ذَلِكَ بِمَا ثَبَتَ عَنْهَا أَنَّ أَكْثَر صِيَامه كَانَ فِي شَعْبَان كَمَا تَقَدَّمَ تَقْرِيره فِي كِتَاب الصِّيَام , وَبِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَصُوم أَيَّام الْبِيض كَمَا ثَبَتَ فِي السُّنَن وَتَقَدَّمَ بَيَانه أَيْضًا. وَأُجِيبَ بِأَنَّ مُرَادهَا تَخْصِيص عِبَادَة مُعَيَّنَة فِي وَقْت خَاصّ , وَإِكْثَاره الصِّيَام فِي شَعْبَان إِنَّمَ…

I asked 'A'isha, the mother of the believers, saying O mother of the believers, how did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) act? Did he choose a particular act for a particular day? She said: No. He act was continuous, and who amongst you is capable of doing what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did?

كَانَ عَمَلُهُ دِيمَةً وَأَيُّكُمْ يَسْتَطِيعُ مَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَسْتَطِيعُ
