Narrator:Anas ibn Mālik

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصَارِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ، كَانَتْ تَبْسُطُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نِطَعًا فَيَقِيلُ عِنْدَهَا عَلَى ذَلِكَ النِّطَعِ ـ قَالَ ـ

فَإِذَا نَامَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَخَذَتْ مِنْ عَرَقِهِ وَشَعَرِهِ، فَجَمَعَتْهُ فِي قَارُورَةٍ، ثُمَّ جَمَعَتْهُ فِي سُكٍّ ـ

Narrated Thumama:

Anas said, "Um Sulaim used to spread a leather sheet for the Prophet (ﷺ) and he used to take a midday nap on that leather sheet at her home." Anas added, "When the Prophet (ﷺ) had slept, she would take some of his sweat and hair and collect it (the sweat) in a bottle and then mix it with Suk (a kind of perfume) while he was still sleeping. "When the death of Anas bin Malik approached, he advised that some of that Suk be mixed with his Hanut (perfume for embalming the dead body), and it was mixed with his Hanut.

Explanation in Arabic

أخبر أنس أن أم سليم رضي الله عنها كانت تفرش للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بساطًا من جلد، فيستريح عندها في ذلك البساط، قال أنس: فإذا نام النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أخذت أم سليم من عَرَقِه وما تناثر من شعره، فجمعَتْه في قارورة من زجاج، ثم تضعه مع الطيب، وإنما أخذت أم سليم شعره وعرقه وجعلته مع السك؛ لئلا يذهب إذا كان العرق وحده، فلما حضرت الوفاة أنس بن مالك، وصى أن يجعل في الطيب الذي يوضع للميت في كفنه من ذلك الطيب الذي فيه من عرقه وشعره عليه الصلاة والسلام تبركًا به، فوُضع له في كفنه كما وصى.

  • جواز التبرك بشعر وعرق النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم.
  • هذا الجواز خاص بالنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، بإطباق الصحابة على ترك التبرك من غيره، كما قال الشاطبي، وهذا إجماع.
  • جواز القيلولة للاستراحة من الرئيس والعالم عند معارفه، وأن ذلك مما يثبت المودة ويؤكد المحبة.

قِصَّة أُمّ سُلَيْمٍ فِي الْعَرَق. قَوْله ( حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَة بْن سَعِيد حَدَّثَنَا الْأَنْصَارِيّ ) هُوَ مُحَمَّد بْن عَبْد اللَّه بْن الْمُثَنَّى بْن عَبْد اللَّه بْن أَنَس بْن مَالِك قَاضِي الْبَصْرَة وَقَدْ أَكْثَرَ الْبُخَارِيّ الرِّوَايَة عَنْهُ بِلَا وَاسِطَة كَاَلَّذِي هُنَا , وَثُمَامَة هُوَ عَمّ عَبْد اللَّه بْن الْمُثَنَّى الرَّاوِي عَنْهُ. قَوْله ( أَنَّ أُمّ سُلَيْمٍ ) هَذَا ظَاهِره أَنَّ الْإِسْنَاد مُرْسَل ; لِأَنَّ ثُمَامَة لَمْ يَلْحَق جَدَّة أَبِيهِ أُمّ سُلَيْمٍ وَالِدَة أَنَس , لَكِنْ دَلَّ قَوْله فِي أَوَاخِره " فَلَمَّا حَضَرَ أَنَس بْن مَالِك الْوَفَاة أَوْصَى إِلَيَّ " عَلَى أَنَّ ثُمَامَة حَمَلَهُ عَنْ أَنَس فَلَيْسَ هُوَ مُرْسَلًا وَلَا مِنْ مُسْنَد أُمّ سُلَيْمٍ…

The Prophet [SAW] lay down on a leather mat and sweated. Umm Sulaim got up and collected his sweat and put it in a bottle. The Prophet [SAW] saw her and said: "What are you doing O Umm Sulaim?" She said: "I am putting your sweat in my perfume." And the Prophet [SAW] smiled.
