حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأُمَامَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ، فَصَلَّى فَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَضَعَهَا، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَفَعَهَا‏.‏

Narrated Abu Qatada:

The Prophet (ﷺ) came out towards us, while carrying Umamah, the daughter of Abi Al-As (his granddaughter) over his shoulder. He prayed, and when he wanted to bow, he put her down, and when he stood up, he lifted her up.

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله : ( وَأُمَامَة بِنْت أَبِي الْعَاصِ ) أَيْ اِبْن الرَّبِيع , وَهِيَ اِبْنَة زَيْنَب بِنْت النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَوْله : ( فَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَضَعَ ) كَذَا لِلْأَكْثَرِ بِحَذْفِ الْمَفْعُول , وَلِلْكُشمِيهنِيّ " وَضَعَهَا " وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ شَرْح الْحَدِيث مُسْتَوْفًى فِي أَوَائِل الصَّلَاة فِي أَبْوَاب سُتْرَة الْمُصَلِّي , وَوَقَعَ هُنَا بِلَفْظِ " رَكَعَ " وَهُنَاكَ بِلَفْظِ " سَجَدَ " وَلَا مُنَافَاة بَيْنَهمَا بَلْ يُحْمَل عَلَى أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَفْعَل ذَلِكَ فِي حَال الرُّكُوع وَالسُّجُود , وَبِهَذَا تَظْهَر مُنَاسَبَة الْحَدِيث لِلتَّرْجَمَةِ , وَهُوَ رَحْمَة الْوَلَد , وَوَلَد الْوَلَد وَلَد. وَمِنْ شَفَقَته صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَحْمَته لِأُمَام…

"I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)leading the people in prayer, carrying Umamah bint Abi Al-As on his shoulder. When he bowed he put her down and when he stood up from prostration he picked her up again."

حَامِلٌ أُمَامَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ فَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَضَعَهَا وَإِذَا رَفَعَ مِنْ سُجُودِهِ أَعَادَهَا ‏.‏

يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ وَهُوَ حَامِلٌ أُمَامَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ فَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَضَعَهَا فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ سُجُودِهِ أَعَادَهَا ‏.‏

I saw the Prophet leading the people in prayer with Umama daughter of Abul ‘As on his shoulder. When he bowed he put her down, and when he got up after the prostration he put her back. (Bukhari and Muslim.)
