حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَخِي، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتِ الضَّحِيَّةُ كُنَّا نُمَلِّحُ مِنْهُ، فَنَقْدَمُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏

لاَ تَأْكُلُوا إِلاَّ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ‏"‏‏.‏ وَلَيْسَتْ بِعَزِيمَةٍ، وَلَكِنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُطْعِمَ مِنْهُ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ

Narrated `Aisha:

We used to salt some of the meat of sacrifice and present it to the Prophet (ﷺ) at Medina. Once he said, "Do not eat (of that meat) for more than three days." That was not a final order, but (that year) he wanted us to feed of it to others, Allah knows better.

قَوْله : ( إِسْمَاعِيل بْن عَبْد اللَّه ) هُوَ اِبْن أَبِي أُوَيْس الَّذِي رَوَى عَنْهُ حَدِيث أَبِي سَعِيد وَقَوْله " حَدَّثَنِي أَخِي " هُوَ أَبُو بَكْر عَبْد الْحَمِيد , وَسُلَيْمَان هُوَ اِبْن بِلَال , وَيَحْيَى بْن سَعِيد هُوَ الْأَنْصَارِيّ. فَإِسْمَاعِيل فِي حَدِيث أَبِي سَعِيد يَرْوِي عَنْ سُلَيْمَان بْن بِلَال بِغَيْرِ وَاسِطَة , وَفِي حَدِيث عَائِشَة هَذَا يَرْوِي عَنْهُ بِوَاسِطَةٍ , وَقَدْ تَكَرَّرَ لَهُ هَذَا فِي عِدَّة أَحَادِيث , وَذَلِكَ يُرْشِد إِلَى أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يُدَلِّس. قَوْله : ( الضَّحِيَّة ) بِفَتْحِ الْمُعْجَمَةِ وَكَسْر الْحَاء الْمُهْمَلَة. قَوْله : ( نُمَلِّح مِنْهُ ) أَيْ مِنْ لَحْم الْأُضْحِيَّة , فِي رِوَايَة الْكُشْمِيهَنِيّ " مِنْهَا " أَيْ مِنْ الْأُضْحِ…

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: We forbade you to eat their meat for more than three days in order that you might have abundance; now Allah has produced abundance, so you may eat, store up and seek reward. Beware, these days are days of eating, drinking and remembrance of Allah, Most High.
