حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ حَدَّثُونِي عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالطُّورِ فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ ‏‏{‏أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ * أَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ بَلْ لاَ يُوقِنُونَ * أَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ الْمُسَيْطِرُونَ‏}‏ كَادَ قَلْبِي أَنْ يَطِيرَ‏.‏ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ فَأَمَّا أَنَا فَإِنَّمَا سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقْرَأُ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ بِالطُّورِ‏.‏ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ زَادَ الَّذِي قَالُوا لِي‏.‏

Explanation

It was the habit of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) to recite long Sūrahs in the Fajr prayer, short Sūrahs in the Maghrib prayer, and medium-length Sūrahs in the rest of the five prayers. However, he would sometimes change that habit for the sake of showing the permissibility or for other purposes. This applies to the Hadīth in hand, which mentions that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) recited Sūrat At-Tūr, which is a one of the longer Sūrahs of the "Mufassal" section of the Qur'an in the Maghrib prayer.

Explanation in Arabic

العادة في صلاة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه كان يُطيل القراءة في صلاة الصبح، ويقصرها في المغرب، ويتوسط في غيرهما من الصلوات الخمس.

ولكنه قد يترك العادة لبيان الجواز، ولأغراض أخرى، كما في هذا الحديث من أنه قرأ في صلاة المغرب بسورة "والطور" وهي من طوال المفصل.

  • أن المشروع هو الجهر في صلاة المغرب.
  • جواز إطالة القراءة فيها أحيانًا.
  • استحباب قراءة سورة الطور في المغرب أحيانًا.

قَوْله : ( حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَان ) هُوَ اِبْن عُيَيْنَةَ ( قَالَ حَدَّثُونِي عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ) اِعْتَرَضَهُ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيّ بِمَا أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ طَرِيق عَبْد الْجَبَّار بْن الْعَلَاء وَابْن أَبِي عُمَر كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ اِبْن عُيَيْنَةَ " سَمِعْت الزُّهْرِيَّ قَالَ " فَصَرَّحَا عَنْهُ بِالسَّمَاعِ , وَهُمَا ثِقَتَانِ. قُلْت : وَهُوَ اِعْتِرَاض سَاقِط ; فَإِنَّهُمَا مَا أَوْرَدَا مِنْ الْحَدِيث إِلَّا الْقَدْر الَّذِي ذَكَرَهُ الْحُمَيْدِيّ عَنْ سُفْيَان أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , بِخِلَافِ الزِّيَادَة الَّتِي صَرَّحَ الْحُمَيْدِيّ عَنْهُ بِأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعهَا مِنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , وَإِنَّمَا بَلَغَتْهُ عَنْهُ بِوَاسِطَةٍ. قَوْله : ( كَادَ قَلْبِي يَطِير ) قَالَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ كَ…
