Sahih al-Bukhari 4605

"They ask you for a legal verdict. Say: 'Allah directs (thus) about Al-Kalal,a (those who leave neither descendants nor ascendants as heirs). If it is a man that dies, leaving a sister, but no child, she shall have half the inheritance. If (such a deceased was) a woman who left no child, her brother takes her inheritance..." (V.4:176)

Authentic hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari Companion’s words (mawquf) Sahih al-Bukhari 4605

Narrator:Al-Barā' ibn ‘Āzib

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ

آخِرُ سُورَةٍ نَزَلَتْ بَرَاءَةَ، وَآخِرُ آيَةٍ نَزَلَتْ ‏{‏يَسْتَفْتُونَكَ ‏}‏

Narrated Al-Bara:

The last Sura that was revealed was Bara'a, and the last Verse that was revealed was: "They ask you for a legal verdict, Say: Allah's directs (thus) about those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs." (4.176)

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله : ( آخِر سُورَة نَزَلَتْ بَرَاءَة , وَآخِر آيَة نَزَلَتْ يَسْتَفْتُونَك قُلْ اللَّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِي الْكَلَالَةِ ) تَقَدَّمَ الْكَلَام عَلَى الْأَخِيرَة فِي تَفْسِير الْبَقَرَة , وَلِلتِّرْمِذِيِّ مِنْ طَرِيق أَبِي السَّفَر عَنْ الْبَرَاء قَالَ " آخِر آيَة نَزَلَتْ وَآخِر شَيْء نَزَلَ " فَذَكَرَهَا. وَفِي النَّسَائِيِّ مِنْ طَرِيق أَبِي الزُّبَيْر عَنْ جَابِر قَالَ " اِشْتَكَيْت , فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْت : يَا رَسُول اللَّه أُوصِي لِأَخَوَاتِي بِالثُّلُثِ ؟ قَالَ : أَحْسَن. قُلْت : بِالشَّطْرِ. قَالَ : أَحْسَن. ثُمَّ خَرَجَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ : لَا أَرَاك تَمُوت مِنْ وَجَعك هَذَا , إِنَّ اللَّه أَنْزَلَ وَبَيَّنَ مَا لِأَخَوَا…

The last Verse that was revealed was: 'They ask you for a legal verdict: Say: Allah directs (thus) about Al-Kalalah (those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs).' And the last Sura which was revealed was Baraatun (9) .

Authentic Sahih al-Bukhari 6744

The last Qur'anic Verse that was revealed (to the Prophet) was the final Verse of Surat-an-Nisa, i.e., 'They ask you for a legal verdict Say: Allah directs (thus) About those who leave No descendants or ascendants as heirs....' (4.176)
