Narrator:As-Sā'ib ibn Yazīd
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ السَّرْحِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ
لَمَّا قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْمَدِينَةَ مِنْ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ تَلَقَّاهُ النَّاسُ فَلَقِيتُهُ مَعَ الصِّبْيَانِ عَلَى ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ
Al Sai’ib bin Yazid said “When the Prophet(ﷺ) turned from the battle of Tabuk to Madeenah, the people received him, I met him along with the children at Thaniyyat Al Wada’.
Reported by Abu Dawud (No. 2779).

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud
( مِنْ غَزْوَة تَبُوك ) : بِتَقْدِيمِ التَّاء قَبْل الْبَاء الْمُوَحَّدَة. قَالَ فِي الْمِصْبَاح : بَاكَتْ النَّاقَة تَبُوك بَوْكًا سَمِنَتْ فَهِيَ بَائِك بِغَيْرِ هَاء وَبِهَذَا الْمُضَارِع سُمِّيَتْ غَزْوَة تَبُوك , لِأَنَّ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَزَاهَا فِي رَجَب سَنَة تِسْع فَصَالَحَ أَهْلهَا عَلَى الْجِزْيَة مِنْ غَيْر قِتَال , فَكَانَتْ خَالِيَة عَنْ الْبُؤْس : فَأَشْبَهَتْ النَّاقَة الَّتِي لَيْسَ بِهَا هُزَال , ثُمَّ سُمِّيَتْ الْبُقْعَة تَبُوك بِذَلِكَ , وَهُوَ مَوْضِع مِنْ بَادِيَة الشَّام قَرِيب مِنْ مَدْيَن الَّذِينَ بَعَثَ اللَّه إِلَيْهِمْ شُعَيْبًا اِنْتَهَى ( عَلَى ثَنِيَّة الْوَدَاع ) : قَالَ فِي الْقَامُوس : الثَّنِيَّة الْعَقَبَة أَوْ طَرِيقهَا أَوْ ال…
