Chapter: The Prohibition Of Cursing An Animal

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَسَمِعَ لَعْنَةً فَقَالَ ‏"‏

مَا هَذِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالُوا هَذِهِ فُلاَنَةُ لَعَنَتْ رَاحِلَتَهَا ‏.‏ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ ضَعُوا عَنْهَا فَإِنَّهَا مَلْعُونَةٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَوَضَعُوا عَنْهَا ‏.‏ قَالَ عِمْرَانُ فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا نَاقَةً وَرْقَاءَ ‏.‏

‘Imran bin Hussain said “The Prophet (ﷺ) was on a journey. He heard a curse. He asked “What is this? They (the people) said “This is so and so (a woman) who cursed her riding beast. The Prophet (ﷺ) said “Remove the saddle from it, for it is accursed. So, they removed (the saddle) from it. ‘Imran said “As if I am looking at it a grey she Camel.”

Al-Azimabadi — Awn al-Ma'bud

( ضَعُوا عَنْهَا ) : أَيْ ضَعُوا رِحَالهَا وَأَعْرُوهَا لِئَلَّا تُرْكَب , وَزَعَمَ بَعْض أَهْل الْعِلْم أَنَّ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا أَمَرَهُمْ بِذَلِكَ فِيهَا لِأَنَّهُ قَدْ اُسْتُجِيبَ لَهَا الدُّعَاء عَلَيْهَا بِاللَّعْنِ , وَاسْتُدِلَّ عَلَى ذَلِكَ بِقَوْلِهِ " فَإِنَّهَا مَلْعُونَة " وَقَدْ يَحْتَمِل أَنْ يَكُون إِنَّمَا فَعَلَ عُقُوبَة لِصَاحِبَتِهَا لِئَلَّا تَعُود إِلَى مِثْل قَوْلهَا اِنْتَهَى ( فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُر إِلَيْهَا ) : أَيْ إِلَى تِلْكَ الرَّاحِلَة ( نَاقَة ) : بِالنَّصْبِ عَلَى الْحَالِيَّة ( وَرْقَاء ) : أَيْ فِي لَوْنهَا سَوَاد. قَالَ الْمُنْذِرِيُّ : وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِم وَالنَّسَائِيُّ.…
