Narrator:Abdullāh ibn Mughaffal

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ وَهُوَ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ

يَقْرَأُ بِسُورَةِ الْفَتْحِ وَهُوَ يُرَجِّعُ ‏.‏

'Abd Allah b. Mughaffal said:

On the day of the Conquest of Mecca I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) riding his she-camel reciting Surah al-Fath repeating each verse several times.

( وَهُوَ يَرْجِعُ ) قَالَ النَّوَوِيُّ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَرَأَ وَرَجَّعَ فِي قِرَاءَته : قَالَ الْقَاضِي : أَجْمَعَ الْعُلَمَاء عَلَى اِسْتِحْبَاب تَحْسِين الصَّوْتِ بِالْقِرَاءَةِ وَتَرْتِيلِهِمَا. قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْد : وَالْأَحَادِيث الْوَارِدَة فِي ذَلِكَ مَحْمُولَةٌ عَلَى التَّشْوِيقِ. قَالَ وَاخْتَلَفُوا فِي الْقِرَاءَة بِالْأَلْحَانِ فَكَرِهَهَا مَالِكٌ وَالْجُمْهُورُ لِخُرُوجِهَا عَمَّا جَاءَ الْقُرْآنُ لَهُ مِنْ الْخُشُوع وَالْتَفَّهُمْ , وَأَبَاحَهَا أَبُو حَنِيفَةَ وَجَمَاعَة مِنْ السَّلَف لِلْأَحَادِيثِ وَلِأَنَّ ذَلِكَ سَبَبٌ لِلرِّقَّةِ وَإِثَارَة الْخَشْيَة وَإِقْبَال النُّفُوس عَلَى اِسْتِمَاعِهِ. قُلْت : قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ فِي مَوْضِعٍ أَكْ…

On the Day of the Conquest of Mecca, the Prophet (ﷺ) recited Surat Al-Fath in a vibrating and pleasant voice. (Muawaiya, the subnarrator said, "If I could imitate the recitation of the Prophet (ﷺ) I would do so.")

قَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ سُورَةَ الْفَتْحِ فَرَجَّعَ فِيهَا‏.‏ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ لَوْ شِئْتُ أَنْ أَحْكِيَ لَكُمْ قِرَاءَةَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَفَعَلْتُ‏.‏

Authentic Sahih al-Bukhari 5047

I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) reciting (Qur'an) while he was riding on his she camel or camel which was moving, carrying him. He was reciting Surat Fath or part of Surat Fath very softly and in an Attractive vibrating tone.

يَقْرَأُ وَهْوَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ ـ أَوْ جَمَلِهِ ـ وَهْىَ تَسِيرُ بِهِ وَهْوَ يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْفَتْحِ أَوْ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْفَتْحِ قِرَاءَةً لَيِّنَةً يَقْرَأُ وَهْوَ يُرَجِّعُ‏.‏
