Palm trees hold a large place in these verses: created for the benefit of Allah’s servants, they serve in comparisons and appear in the story of Mary. Other trees are mentioned too: the tree forbidden to Adam, called the tree of eternity, the tree of Zaqqum, the blessed tree, the one from which Moses was called and Jonah’s gourd plant, as well as the green tree from which Allah brings forth fire.
Verses gathered from a topical index of the Quran, in Mushaf order; every verse is quoted in full.
And it is He who sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby the growth of all things. We produce from it greenery from which We produce grains arranged in layers. And from the palm trees - of its emerging fruit are clusters hanging low. And [We produce] gardens of grapevines and olives and pomegranates, similar yet varied. Look at [each of] its fruit when it yields and [at] its ripening. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and of all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought.
