The straight path, these verses say, is the path of Allah, which means worshipping Him alone. Allah guides to it whom He wills, the Qur’an leads to it, and the prophets and messengers walked it, like Abraham and his upright religion. Believers are told to follow it and not other ways, and the word also designates the crossing (as-sirat) between Paradise and the Fire.
Verses gathered from a topical index of the Quran, in Mushaf order; every verse is quoted in full.
The foolish among the people will say, "What has turned them away from their qiblah, which they used to face?" Say, "To Allāh belongs the east and the west. He guides whom He wills to a straight path."
But those who deny Our verses are deaf and dumb within darknesses. Whomever Allāh wills - He sends astray; and whomever He wills - He puts him on a straight path.
And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts humbly submit to it. And indeed is Allāh the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path.
