Indecencies, open and hidden, are forbidden in these verses, which also set out the rulings on those who commit them, including unlawful sexual intercourse. They recall that Allah never commands indecency, that Satan makes it attractive and that prayer keeps one away from it, and mention the vindication of Mary, mother of the Messiah, and the ban on making prostitution a source of income.

يَٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ مَن يَأْتِ مِنكُنَّ بِفَٰحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ يُضَٰعَفْ لَهَا ٱلْعَذَابُ ضِعْفَيْنِ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًا ٣٠
O wives of the Prophet, whoever of you should commit a clear immorality - for her the punishment would be doubled two fold, and ever is that, for Allāh, easy.
