Al-Mukhtasar
Indeed, those who say, “Our Lord is Allah; we do not have any Lord other than Him.” and they are steadfast on fulfilling His commands and refrain from that which He has prohibited, the angels will descend upon them when death nears them, saying to them, “Do not fear death or whatever is to come after it and do not grieve over what you are going to leave behind in the world. Take the glad tidings of Paradise which you were promised in the world for your faith in Allah and your good deeds.”
Those who say, “Our Lord is Allah,” then remain steadfast, the angels will descend upon them14[saying], “Do not fear, nor grieve, but receive glad tidings of Paradise which you were promised.
Notes
[14] At the time of their death throes.
Verily, those who say: "Our Lord is Allâh (Alone)," and then they stand firm,2 on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): "Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!
Notes
[2] (V.41:30) In Arabic Istaqâmû: Stand firm i.e. they followed (really) the religion of Islamic Monotheism, believed in the Oneness of Allâh, and worshipped none but Him (Alone), and performed all that was ordained by Allâh (good deeds) and abstained from all that was forbidden by Allâh (sins and evil deeds).
Lo! those who say: Our Lord is Allah, and afterward are upright, the angels descend upon them, saying: Fear not nor grieve, but hear good tidings of the paradise which ye are promised.
In the case of those who say, "Our Lord is Allah", and, further, stand straight and steadfast, the angels descend on them (from time to time): "Fear ye not!" (they suggest), "Nor grieve! but receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss), the which ye were promised!
(As for) those who say: Our Lord is Allah, then continue in the right way, the angels descend upon them, saying: Fear not, nor be grieved, and receive good news of the garden which you were promised.
Surely the ones who have said, "Our Lord is Allah, " thereafter they have gone straight, upon them the Angels keep coming down (saying), "Do not fear (anything), nor do you grieve, and have good tidings of the Garden that you are promised.
