Tafsir of verse 62

Al-Mukhtasar

They assign to Allah, may He be glorified, females that they dislike to attribute to themselves. They claim falsely that if indeed they are resurrected then they will have the best ranks with Allah. Truly, for them is the Fire, and they will be left therein never to come out of it.

Tafsir of the whole Surah An-Nahl

Other translations of verse 62

They attribute to Allah36 what they dislike for themselves, and their tongues make false claim that they will have the best [reward]37. Without a doubt for them there will be the Fire, and they will be neglected.

Notes

[36] That the angels are Allah’s daughters. [37] Both in this life and in the Hereafter.

They assign to Allâh that which they dislike (for themselves), and their tongues assert the falsehood that the better things will be theirs. No doubt for them is the Fire, and they will be the first to be hastened on into it, and left there neglected. (Tafsir Al-Qurtubî)

And they assign unto Allah that which they (themselves) dislike, and their tongues expound the lie that the better portion will be theirs. Assuredly theirs will be the Fire, and they will be abandoned.

They attribute to Allah what they hate (for themselves), and their tongues assert the falsehood that all good things are for themselves: without doubt for them is the Fire, and they will be the first to be hastened on into it!

And they ascribe to Allah what they (themselves) hate and their tongues relate the lie that they shall have the good; there is no avoiding it that for them is the fire and that they shall be sent before.

And they make up to Allah what they (themselves) hate; and their tongues describe the lie that they will have the fairest (reward). No question that theirs will be the Fire, and they have been led far in excess.

And if We give man a taste of mercy from Us and then We withdraw it from him, indeed, he is despairing and ungrateful. …

And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me, and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment.
