Tafsir of verse 50
Al-Mukhtasar
I also made Jesus and his mother Mary signs indicating My capability; she conceived him without a father. I granted them shelter in an elevated place on earth, an even, habitable place which had fresh flowing water.
We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign19 and sheltered them on a hillside – a place of rest and a flowing stream20.
Notes
[19] The miraculous birth of Jesus is clear proof of Allah's Omnipotence that Mary gave birth to him without male interference.
[20] Other Prophets were rejected for being human beings; whereas, people went to two extremes regarding Jesus: some considered him as divine, while some others went to the other extreme by accusing Mary of unchastity, although they were witnesses of the miraculous birth of Jesus and had heard him speak in the cradle.
And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, and We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams.
And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings.
And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs.
And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs.
And We made Maryam's (Mary's) son and his mother a sign, and gave an abode to (both of) them upon a mound, with (Literally: owing, comprising) a (refreshing) residence and a profuse (spring).
And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded.
