About Surah Al-Kawthar
Surah Al-Kawthar, also called Surah “An-Nahr” (the sacrifice), is the shortest surah of the Qur’an, with three verses by agreement. In Arabic, kawthar means something that reaches the utmost abundance; the Arabs used it for anything numerous and of great importance. Al-Qurtubi reports many views on its meaning and holds the soundest to be that it is a river in Paradise or the Prophet’s ﷺ Basin at the place of Gathering, as this is established from the Prophet ﷺ.
