And it frightens the Jews, Christians and some of the idolaters who said: Allah has taken a son.
and to warn those who say, “Allah has begotten a son3.”
[3] Such as the Jews and Christians, and the Arab pagans who claimed that angels are Allah’s daughters.
And to warn those (Jews, Christians, and pagans) who say, "Allâh has begotten a son (or offspring or children)."
And to warn those who say: Allah hath chosen a son,
Further, that He may warn those (also) who say, "Allah hath begotten a son":
And warn those who say: Allah has taken a son.
And to warn the ones who have said, " Allah has taken to Him a child."
They share a sequence of words with this verse: useful for telling them apart when memorising.
They have said, "Allāh has taken a son." Exalted is He; He is the [one] Free of need. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. You have no authority for this [claim]. Do you say about Allāh that which you do not know?
