أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يقرأ في العشاء الآخرة، بالسماء ذات البروج
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite “By the sky with its constellations” in the night prayer (Isha).
No hadith reports a virtue specific to Surah Al-Buruj, other than its being part of the Mufassal, by which the Prophet ﷺ was favoured over the other prophets. He ﷺ recited it in the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, and Ahmad reports from Abu Hurayrah that he recited it at Isha. It strengthens the believers through the story of the People of the Ditch.
It belongs to the Mufassal, given to the Prophet ﷺ as an extra by which he was favoured over the other prophets, according to the hadith of Wathilah ibn al-Asqa’: “… and I was favoured with the Mufassal.”
The Prophet ﷺ recited it in the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, and Ahmad reports from Abu Hurayrah that he ﷺ recited “By the sky with its constellations” at Isha.
One of its main aims is to make the believers steadfast and console them for what their enemies inflicted on them, by recalling the trial of earlier believers, the People of the Ditch: as though Allah were telling the Prophet ﷺ and his companions: be patient as they were, for the good end will be yours.

أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يقرأ في العشاء الآخرة، بالسماء ذات البروج
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite “By the sky with its constellations” in the night prayer (Isha).
Main purpose: To show Allah’s might, His all-encompassing command, His support for His allies and His severity with His enemies.
Al-Buruj is an entirely Meccan surah, the 85th in the order of the Qur’an, with twenty-two verses. It is also called “By the sky with its constellations” (As-Sama’ dhat al-Buruj). It was revealed after Ash-Shams and before At-Tin. Al-Qurtubi gives four views on the “constellations” (buruj) by which Allah swears: the stars, the palaces, the beautiful creation, or the mansions of the heavenly bodies.
