Tafsir of verse 82
Al-Mukhtasar
Those who believe in Allah follow His laws and did not pollute their faith with polytheism, they will be the ones who will be safe and secure. They are the ones to whom their Lord has shown the path of guidance.
Those who believe and do not mix their faith with falsehood25 are the ones who will be secure, and it is they who are rightly guided.
Notes
[25] i.e., they do not worship others besides Allah.
It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allâh), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided.9
Notes
[9] (V.6:82): See the footnote (C) of (V.27:59).
Those who believe and obscure not their belief by wrongdoing, theirs is safety; and they are rightly guided.
"It is those who believe and confuse not their beliefs with wrong - that are (truly) in security, for they are on (right) guidance."
Those who believe and do not mix up their faith with iniquity, those are they who shall have the security and they are those who go aright.
The ones who have believed and have not confounded their belief with injustice, to those belong the (true) security, and they are right-guided.
Or have they partners [i.e., other deities] who have ordained for them a religion to which Allāh has not consented? But if not for the decisive word, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, the wrongdoers will have a painful punishment.
They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allāh has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance.
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Luqmān said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allāh. Indeed, association [with Him] is great injustice."
