Boy Arabic origin Saṭṭām
Najdi name linked to sitam, “the edge of the sword”
Meaning of the name Sattam
Sattam is a traditional name of Najd, in central Arabia, borne notably in the Saudi royal family. It is formed on the root s-t-m: lexicographers give sitam for “the edge of the sword” and say of a man at the heart of his tribe that he is in its ustumma, “its centre, its noblest part”. The name thus evokes vigour and a place of honour.
