Boy Arabic origin Nāhil
“One who drinks at the spring” and quenches his thirst; figuratively, one who draws on knowledge
Meaning of the name Nahil
Nahil comes from the root n-h-l of the first draught (nahal) and the watering place (manhal), the spring where caravans come to drink. Lexicographers count it among words with opposite meanings: it denotes the thirsty one and also the one who has drunk his fill. Figuratively, nahila min al-ʿilm means “he drew from the spring of knowledge”.
