And it is He who sends down the rain after they had despaired and spreads His mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.
Boy Arabic origin Ghayth
In the Quran“Beneficial rain”, the rain that comes after drought
The word as it is recited in the Quran: Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary, Ash-Shuraa 42:28.
The word occurs three times in the Quran: “It is He who sends down the rain (al-ghayth) after they have despaired, and spreads His mercy” (42:28); “With Allah is the knowledge of the Hour, and He sends down the rain” (31:34). The Prophet ﷺ compared the guidance and knowledge he brought to “abundant rain falling on a land” (al-Bukhari 79).
Ghayth is rain, above all the rain that falls after drought and brings the earth back to life; Arabs also called ghayth the grass it makes grow. The word is close to ghawth, “help”, and evokes relief after waiting: the Quran says of a year of plenty that in it “people will be given rain” (yughathu, 12:49). The name is given in Jordan, Syria, Iraq and the Gulf.
Yes: the word Ghaith appears in the Quran 3 times, in 3 surahs.

Indeed, Allāh [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing and Aware.

Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allāh and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.
