عَبْد التَّوَّاب
Boy Arabic origin ʿAbd al-Tawwāb
Name of Allah“Servant of the Ever-Relenting”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved of your names to Allah are ʿAbd Allah and ʿAbd al-Rahman” (Muslim 2132), and scholars add to them all names formed on a name of Allah. The name al-Tawwab occurs 11 times in the Quran; its page in the 99 Names section gives its meaning and verses.
ʿAbd al-Tawwab joins ʿabd with al-Tawwab, an intensive form of the root t-w-b of returning and repentance: the One who constantly turns to His servants to accept their repentance. The Quran says it from the story of Adam: “He accepted his repentance; He is the Ever-Relenting, the Merciful” (2:37). Mostly an Egyptian name.
This name is built on a name of Allah found in the Quran; its verses are on the page of that name.

And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "O my people, indeed you have wronged yourselves by your taking of the calf [for worship]. So repent to your Creator and kill yourselves [i.e., the guilty among you]. That is best for [all of] you in the sight of your Creator." Then He accepted your repentance; indeed, He is the Accepting of Repentance, the Merciful.
