O [my] two companions of prison, are separate lords better or Allāh, the One, the Prevailing?
عَبْد الْقَهَّار
Boy Arabic origin ʿAbd al-Qahhār
Name of Allah“Servant of the Supreme Subduer”
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The most beloved of your names to Allah are ʿAbd Allah and ʿAbd al-Rahman” (Muslim 2132), and scholars add to them all names formed on a name of Allah. The name al-Qahhar occurs 6 times in the Quran; its page in the 99 Names section gives its meaning and verses.
ʿAbd al-Qahhar joins ʿabd with al-Qahhar, an intensive form of the root q-h-r of domination: the One to whom everything submits and whom nothing can thwart. The Quran always pairs it with al-Wahid, “the One”: “Allah, the One, the Supreme Subduer” (13:16). A rare name, known mainly in the Middle East and South Asia.
This name is built on a name of Allah found in the Quran; its verses are on the page of that name.

Say, "Who is Lord of the heavens and earth?" Say, "Allāh." Say, "Have you then taken besides Him allies not possessing [even] for themselves any benefit or any harm?" Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Or is darkness equivalent to light? Or have they attributed to Allāh partners who created like His creation so that the creation [of each] seemed similar to them?" Say, "Allāh is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Prevailing."
