حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، أَنَّ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ لَهُ حَدِّثْنِي بِمَا، كَانَتْ تُفْضِي إِلَيْكَ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَعْنِي عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لَهَا ‏

"‏ لَوْلاَ أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ حَدِيثُو عَهْدٍ بِالْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَهَدَمْتُ الْكَعْبَةَ وَجَعَلْتُ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ ‏"

Al-Aswad bin Yazid narrated that:

Ibn Az-Zubair said to him: "Narrated to me from what the Mother of the Believers used to (secretly) inform you about" - meaning Aishah - so he said: "She narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah said: 'Had your people not been still close to the pre-Islamic period of ignorance, then I would demolish the Ka'bah and rebuild it with two doors.'" He said: "So when Ibn Az-Zubair came to power he demolished it and rebuilt it with two doors."

Al-Mubarakfuri — Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi

قَوْلُهُ : ( إِنَّ اِبْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ ) يَعْنِي عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ الصَّحَابِيَّ الْمَشْهُورَ ( قَالَ لَهُ ) أَيْ لِلْأَسْوَدِ ( بِمَا كَانَتْ تُفْضِي إِلَيْك ) أَيْ تُسِرُّ إِلَيْك , وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ لِلْبُخَارِيِّ : قَالَ لِي اِبْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تُسِرُّ إِلَيْك كَثِيرًا مَا حَدَّثَتْك فِي الْكَعْبَةِ ( لَوْلَا أَنَّ قَوْمَك حَدِيثُو عَهْدٍ ) بِالْإِضَافَةِ , وَقَالَ الْمُطَرِّزِيُّ : لَا يَجُوزُ حَذْفُ الْوَاوِ فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا وَالصَّوَابُ حَدِيثُو عَهْدٍ , كَذَا فِي فَتْحِ الْبَارِي. وَقَالَ السُّيُوطِيُّ فِي حَاشِيَة النَّسَائِيِّ : وَيُمْكِنُ أَنْ يُوَجَّهَ بِأَنَّ لَفْظَ الْقَوْمِ مُفْرَدٌ لَفْظًا وَجَمْعٌ مَعْنًى فَرُوعِيَ إِفْرَادُ اللَّفْظِ فِي جَانِبِ…

Authentic Sunan an-Nasa'i 2902

"The Messenger of Allah said: "Were it not for the fact that my people' - according to the narration of Muhammad he said: 'Your people' - 'have recently left Jailiyyah, I would have knocked down the House and given it two doors.'" When Ibn Az-Zubair was in power, he gave it two doors.

"‏ لَوْلاَ أَنَّ قَوْمِي - وَفِي حَدِيثِ مُحَمَّدٍ قَوْمَكِ - حَدِيثُ عَهْدِ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ لَهَدَمْتُ الْكَعْبَةَ وَجَعَلْتُ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ ‏"
