قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مِينَاءَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَتْنِي خَالَتِي عَائِشَةُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا لَوْلَا أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِشِرْكٍ أَوْ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ لَهَدَمْتُ الْكَعْبَةَ فَأَلْزَقْتُهَا بِالْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْتُ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ بَابًا شَرْقِيًّا وَبَابًا غَرْبِيًّا وَزِدْتُ فِيهَا مِنْ الْحَجَرِ سِتَّةَ أَذْرُعٍ فَإِنَّ قُرِيْشًا اقْتَصَرَتْهَا حِينَ بَنَتْ الْكَعْبَةَ

"The Messenger of Allah said: "Were it not for the fact that my people' - according to the narration of Muhammad he said: 'Your people' - 'have recently left Jailiyyah, I would have knocked down the House and given it two doors.'" When Ibn Az-Zubair was in power, he gave it two doors.
