حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، وَهَنَّادٌ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏

"‏ إِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلَ مُؤَخَّرَةِ الرَّحْلِ فَلْيُصَلِّ وَلاَ يُبَالِي مَنْ مَرَّ وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ ‏"

Muba bin Talhah narrated from his father (Talhah) that :

Allah's Messenger said: "When one of you placed something like the post (handle) of the camel saddle in front of him, then let him perform Salat and not concern himself with who passes beyond that."

Reported by At-Tirmidhi (No. 335) and Muslim (No. 499a).

Al-Mubarakfuri — Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi

قَوْلُهُ : ( مِثْلُ مُؤَخَّرَةِ الرَّحْلِ ) هُوَ الْعُودُ الَّذِي يَسْتَنِدُ إِلَيْهِ رَاكِبُ الرَّحْلِ وَفِي الْمُؤَخَّرَةِ لُغَاتٌ ضَمُّ الْمِيمِ وَسُكُونِ الْهَمْزَةِ وَكَسْرِ الْخَاءِ حَكَاهَا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ وَأَنْكَرَهَا يَعْقُوبُ , وَفَتْحُ الْهَمْزَةِ وَالْخَاءِ مَعًا مَعَ تَشْدِيدِ الْخَاءِ حَكَاهَا صَاحِبُ الْمَشَارِقِ وَقَالَ اِبْنُ الْعَرَبِيِّ : الْمُحَدِّثُونَ يَرْوُونَهُ مُشَدَّدًا وَأَنْكَرَهَا صَاحِبُ النِّهَايَةِ فَقَالَ وَلَا تُشَدَّدُ , وَسُكُونُ الْهَمْزَةِ وَفَتْحُ الْخَاءِ الْمُخَفَّفَةِ حَكَاهَا صَاحِبُ السَّرْقَسْطِيِّ فِي غَرِيبَةِ وَأَنْكَرَهَا اِبْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ , وَفَتْحُ الْمِيمِ وَسُكُونُ الْوَاوِ مِنْ غَيْرِ هَمْزَةٍ وَكَسْرُ الْخَاءِ حَكَاهَا صَاحِبُ الْمَشَارِ…

Talha b. ‘Ubaidallah reported God’s Messenger as saying, “When one of you places in front of him something such as the back of a saddle, he should pray without caring who passes on the other side of it.” Muslim transmitted it.

وَعَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم: «إِذا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِثْلَ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ فَليصل وَلَا يبال من مر وَرَاء ذَلِك» . رَوَاهُ مُسلم

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was asked in the expedition of Tabuk about the Sutra of the person who is offering the prayer; he said , "It is (something) like the back of a saddle." [Reported by Muslim].

We mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) so he said: If anything, like the back of the saddle, is placed in front of anyone of you, then nothing that passes in front of him (but behind that thing) can harm him
