حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمَعْنِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏

أَفْشُوا السَّلاَمَ وَأَطْعِمُوا الطَّعَامَ وَاضْرِبُوا الْهَامَ تُورَثُوا الْجِنَانَ ‏"

Narrated Abu Hurairah:

That the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Spread the (greetings of) Salam, feed others, strike the heads (of the enemy disbelievers); you will inherit Paradise."

He said: There are narrations on this topic from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr, Ibn 'Umar, Anas, 'Abdus-Salam, 'Abdur-Rahman bin 'Aish, and Shuraih bin Hani' from his father.

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih Gharib as a narration of [Ibn Ziyad] from Abu Hurairah.

قَوْلُهُ : ( حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ) هُوَ الْمَعْنِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ( حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ) الْبَصْرِيُّ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ مِنْ الثَّامِنَةِ كَذَا فِي التَّقْرِيبِ. وَقَالَ فِي تَهْذِيبِ التَّهْذِيبِ فِي تَرْجَمَتِهِ : لَهُ عِنْدَ التِّرْمِذِيِّ حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ , وَعِنْدَ اِبْنِ مَاجَهْ حَدِيثُ أَنَسٍ : صَنَعَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ خُبْزَةً اِنْتَهَى ( عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ) هُوَ الْجُمَحِيُّ أَبُو الْحَارِثِ الْبَصْرِيُّ. قَوْلُهُ : ( أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ ) أَيْ أَظْهِرُوهُ وَعُمُّوا بِهِ النَّاسَ وَلَا تَخُصُّوا الْمَعَارِفَ ( وَأَطْعِمُوا الطَّعَامَ ) أَرَادَ بِهِ قَدْرًا زَائِدًا عَلَى الْوَاجِبِ فِي الزَّ…

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "O people, exchange greetings of peace (i.e., say: As-Salamu 'Alaikum to one another), feed people, strengthen the ties of kinship, and be in prayer when others are asleep, you will enter Jannah in peace." [At- Tirmidhi, who classified it as Hasan Sahih].
