حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ إِنَّمَا كَانَ

فِرَاشُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الَّذِي يَنَامُ عَلَيْهِ أَدَمٌ حَشْوُهُ لِيفٌ ‏.‏

Narrated 'Aishah:

"The only bed that the Messenger of Allah had which he slept was [made of a tanned skin] stuffed with palm-fibres."

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

He Said: There are narrations on thus topic from Hafsah and Jabir.

Al-Mubarakfuri — Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi

قَوْلُهُ : ( إِنَّمَا كَانَ فِرَاشُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) بِكَسْرِ الْفَاءِ , وَفِي رِوَايَةِ اِبْنِ مَاجَهْ : كَانَ ضِجَاعُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَدَمًا حَشْوُهُ لِيفٌ , وَالضِّجَاعُ بِكَسْرِ الضَّادِ الْمُعْجَمَةِ مَا يُرْقَدُ عَلَيْهِ ( أَدَمٌ ) كَذَا وَقَعَ فِي نُسَخِ التِّرْمِذِيِّ الْحَاضِرَةِ عِنْدَنَا بِالرَّفْعِ , وَوَقَعَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ فِي صَحِيحِ مُسْلِمٍ بِعَيْنِ إِسْنَادِ التِّرْمِذِيِّ وَلَفْظُهُ فِيهِ : أَدَمًا بِالنَّصْبِ الظَّاهِرِ , وَالْأَدَمُ بِفَتْحَتَيْنِ : اِسْمٌ لِجَمْعِ الْأَدِيمِ وَهُوَ الْجِلْدُ الْمَدْبُوغُ عَلَى مَا فِي الْمُغْرِبِ ( حَشْوُهُ لِيفٌ ) قَالَ فِي الْقَامُوسِ : لِيفُ النَّخْلِ بِالْكَسْرِ مَع…

The pillow of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on which he slept at night (according to the version on Ibn Mani') was of leather stuffed with palm fibre (according to the agreed version).

Some relative of Umm Salamah said: The bed of the Prophet (ﷺ) was set as a man is laid in his grave; the mosque was towards his head.

كَانَ فِرَاشُ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَحْوًا مِمَّا يُوضَعُ الإِنْسَانُ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَكَانَ الْمَسْجِدُ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ ‏.‏
