حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏

"‏ لاَ يُحَرِّمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ إِلاَّ مَا فَتَقَ الأَمْعَاءَ فِي الثَّدْىِ وَكَانَ قَبْلَ الْفِطَامِ ‏"

Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: ''No prohibition results from suckling, except for what penetrates the intestines from the breast before weaning.''

Explanation

This Hadīth is evidence that breastfeeding prohibits marriage only when the breast milk reaches and enlarges the intestines. A small amount of milk that does not do this, does not forbid marriage. So, the breastfeeding that affects the permissibility of marriage is what takes place before weaning.

Explanation in Arabic

الحديث يدل على أنه لا يحرِّم من الرِّضاع إلاَّ ما وصل إلى الأمعاء ووسَّعها، أما القليل الذي لم ينفذ إليها ويفتقها ويوسعها -فلا يحرِّم، فكان الرضاع المؤثر في حال الصغر قبل الفطام.

  • أن الرضاع الذي ينشر الحرمة هو ما تغذَّى به الجسم، واستفاد منه، وهو ما كان في زمن الصغر، وهو وقت الرضاعة.
  • حسن بيان الرسول -صلى الله عليه وسلم- حيث يأتي كلامه واضحاً بيناً وهو أفصح الخلق -صلى الله عليه وسلم-.
  • أنّ الرّضعة الواحدة لا تحرّم؛ لأنّها لا تغني من جوع.

قَوْلُهُ : ( لَا يُحَرِّمُ ) بِتَشْدِيدِ الرَّاءِ الْمَكْسُورَةِ ( مِنْ الرَّضَاعِ ) بِفَتْحِ الرَّاءِ وَكَسْرِهَا ( إِلَّا مَا فَتَقَ الْأَمْعَاءَ ) بِالنَّصْبِ عَلَى أَنَّهُ مَفْعُولٌ بِهِ أَيْ الَّذِي شَقَّ أَمْعَاءَ الصَّبِيِّ كَالطَّعَامِ , وَوَقَعَ مِنْهُ مَوْقِعَ الْغِذَاءِ. وَذَلِكَ أَنْ يَكُونَ فِي أَوَانِ الرَّضَاعِ وَالْأَمْعَاءِ جَمْعُ مَعْيٍ وَهُوَ مَوْضِعُ الطَّعَامِ مِنْ الْبَطْنِ ( فِي الثَّدْيِ ) حَالٌ مِنْ فَاعِلِ فَتَقَ كَقَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى { وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنْ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا } أَيْ كَائِنًا فِي الثَّدْيِ , فَائِضًا مِنْهُ سَوَاءٌ كَانَ بِالِارْتِضَاعِ أَوْ بِالْإِيجَارِ. وَلَمْ يَرِدْ بِهِ الِاشْتِرَاطُ فِي الرَّضَاعِ الْمُحَرَّمِ أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنْ الثَّدْيِ قَالَهُ ا…

Umm Salama reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The only suckling which makes marriage unlawful is that which is taken from, the breast and enters the bowels, and is taken before the time of weaning.” Tirmidhi transmitted it.
