Sunan an-Nasa'i 4259

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "If a mouse falls into ghee which is solid, throw the mouse and what is surrounding it away; but if it is in a liquid state do not go near it." [Ahmad and Abu Dawud reported it; al-Bukhari and Abu Hatim ruled it to be Wahm (an error) (in reporting it from Abu Hurairah)].

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-{ إِذَا وَقَعَتْ اَلْفَأْرَةُ فِي اَلسَّمْنِ, فَإِنْ كَانَ جَامِداً فَأَلْقُوهَا وَمَا حَوْلَهَا, وَإِنْ كَانَ مَايِعًا…

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah + 3 other versions

A mouse fell into the butter-fat and died. The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked about that. He said, "Throw away the mouse and the butter-fat that surrounded it, and eat the rest of the butter-fat (As-Samn).

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was asked regarding ghee (cooking butter) in which a mouse had fallen. He said, "Take out the mouse and throw away the ghee around it and use the rest."

أَلْقُوهَا وَمَا حَوْلَهَا فَاطْرَحُوهُ‏.‏ وَكُلُوا سَمْنَكُمْ ‏"

Narrated by Maymūna bint al-Hārith

The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked regarding ghee in which a mouse had fallen. He said, "Take out the mouse and throw away the ghee around it (and use the rest.)"

خُذُوهَا وَمَا حَوْلَهَا فَاطْرَحُوهُ ‏"

Narrated by Maymūna bint al-Hārith

regarding an animal, e.g., a mouse or some other animal that had fallen into solid or liquid oil or butter-fat: I had been informed that a mouse had died in butter-fat whereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ordered that the butter-fat near it be thrown away and the rest of the butter-fat can be eaten.

فَطُرِحَ ثُمَّ أُكِلَ

A mouse fell into clarified butter. The Prophet (ﷺ) was informed of it. He said: Throw what is around it and eat.

أَلْقُوا مَا حَوْلَهَا وَكُلُوا ‏"
