أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحْرِزُ بْنُ الْوَضَّاحِ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ أُمَيَّةَ - عَنْ أَبِي غَطَفَانَ بْنِ طَرِيفٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ لَمَّا دَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم شَنَقَ نَاقَتَهُ حَتَّى أَنَّ رَأْسَهَا لَيَمَسُّ وَاسِطَةَ رَحْلِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لِلنَّاسِ ‏

"‏ السَّكِينَةَ السَّكِينَةَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Abu Ghaftan bin Tarif that he heard Ibn Abbas say:

"When the Messenger of Allah departed he reined in his she-camel until its head touched the middle of his saddle, and he was saying to the people: 'Be tranquil be tranquil,' on the evening of Arafat."

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan al-Nasa'i

قَوْله ( لَمَّا دَفَعَ ) الدَّفْع مُتَعَدٍّ لَكِنْ شَاعَ اِسْتِعْمَاله بِلَا ذِكْر الْمَفْعُول فِي مَوْضِع رَجَعَ لِظُهُورِهِ أَيْ دَفَعَ نَفْسه أَوْ مَطِيّه حَتَّى أَنَّهُ يُفْهَم مِنْهُ مَعْنَى اللَّازِم وَقِيلَ سُمِّيَ الرُّجُوع مِنْ عَرَفَات وَمُزْدَلِفَة دَفْعًا لِأَنَّ النَّاس فِي مَسِيرهمْ ذَاكَ مَدْفُوعُونَ يَدْفَع بَعْضهمْ بَعْضًا ( شَنَقَ نَاقَته ) بِفَتْحِ نُون خَفِيفَة مِنْ حَدّ ضَرَبَ أَيْ ضَمَّ وَضَيَّقَ زِمَامهَا يُقَال شَنَقَ الْبَعِير إِذَا كَفَفْت زِمَامه وَأَنْتَ رَاكِبه.…

'Umar (RAA) narrated, ‘The pagans did not use to depart from Muzdalifah until the sun had risen, and they would say, ‘Let the sun shine on Thabir (the highest mountain in Makkah). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) contradicted them and departed from Muzdalifah before sunrise.' Related by Al-Bukhari.
