Hadith narrated by Ruwayfi ibn Thābit

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "It is not lawful for a man who believes in Allah and the Last Day to water what another person has sown." [Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi reported it. Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic), and al-Bazzar graded it Hasan (good)].

O Ruwayfi‘, you may live a long life after me; so, inform people that anyone who ties his beard, wears a string around his neck, or cleanse himself with animal dung or with bone, indeed Muhammad has nothing to do with him

مَنْ عَقَدَ لِحْيَتَهُ أَوْ تَقَلَّدَ وَتَرًا أَوِ اسْتَنْجَى بِرَجِيعِ دَابَّةٍ أَوْ عَظْمٍ فَإِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا بَرِيءٌ مِنْهُ ‏"

Narrated by Ruwayfi ibn Thābit

Ruwaih' reported God’s Messenger as saying, “If anyone invokes a blessing on Muhammad saying, ‘O God, cause him to occupy the place near Thee on the day of resurrection’, he will be guaranteed my intercession.” Ahmad transmitted it.
