حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَالِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَيُّ جَبَلٍ هَذَا قُلْتُ أُحُدٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّهُ لِي ذَهَبًا قِطَعًا أُنْفِقُهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَدَعُ مِنْهُ قِيرَاطًا قَالَ قُلْتُ قِنْطَارًا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ قِيرَاطًا قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ إِنَّمَا أَقُولُ الَّذِي هُوَ أَقَلُّ وَلَا أَقُولُ الَّذِي هُوَ أَكْثَرُ

Nothing is more delighting to me than this that Uhud should be of gold for me, and no dinar is left with me out of it before three nights pass except a dinar which I would set aside for the repayment of debt upon me.

مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّ لِي أُحُدًا ذَهَبًا تَأْتِي عَلَىَّ ثَالِثَةٌ وَعِنْدِي مِنْهُ دِينَارٌ إِلاَّ دِينَارٌ أُرْصِدُهُ لِدَيْنٍ عَلَىَّ ‏"

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If I had gold equal to the mountain of Uhud, I would love that, before three days had passed, not a single Dinar thereof remained with me if I found somebody to accept it excluding some amount that I would keep for the payment of my debts.''
