حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَوْ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الشَّرِيدَ يَقُولُ أَبْصَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ فَأَسْرَعَ إِلَيْهِ أَوْ هَرْوَلَ فَقَالَ ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ قَالَ إِنِّي أَحْنَفُ تَصْطَكُّ رُكْبَتَايَ فَقَالَ ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ فَإِنَّ كُلَّ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَسَنٌ فَمَا رُئِيَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ بَعْدُ إِلَّا إِزَارُهُ يُصِيبُ أَنْصَافَ سَاقَيْهِ أَوْ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The lower garment of a believer should be half way below the knees. He is guilty of no sin if they are up to the ankles. That which is below the ankles is in the Fire (of Hell). Allah will not look at one who allows his lower garment to trail out of vanity. [Abu Dawud].

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took hold of the lower part of my calf or his calf and said: ‘This is where the lower wrap should come to. If you insist, then lower, and if you insist, then lower, but the lower wrap has no right to (come to) the ankle.’”

"‏ هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الإِزَارِ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ ‏.‏ فَأَسْفَلَ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَأَسْفَلَ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَلاَ حَقَّ لِلإِزَارِ فِي الْكَعْبَيْنِ ‏"

Authentic Mishkat al-Masabih 4314

Abu Huraira reported God’s messenger as saying, “The part of the lower garment which goes below the ankles is in hell." Bukhari transmitted it.

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ مِنَ الْإِزَارِ فِي النَّارِ» . رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ

Authentic Sunan an-Nasa'i 5329

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'The Izar should come to the middle of the shins and the calf. If you insist, then a little lower, and if you insist, then a little further down, but the Izar has no right to (come to) the ankle." This is the wordings of Muhammad.

"‏ مَوْضِعُ الإِزَارِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ السَّاقَيْنِ وَالْعَضَلَةِ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَأَسْفَلَ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَمِنْ وَرَاءِ السَّاقِ وَلاَ حَقَّ لِلْكَعْبَيْنِ فِي الإِزَارِ ‏"
