أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ نُذَيْرٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏

"‏ مَوْضِعُ الإِزَارِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ السَّاقَيْنِ وَالْعَضَلَةِ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَأَسْفَلَ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَمِنْ وَرَاءِ السَّاقِ وَلاَ حَقَّ لِلْكَعْبَيْنِ فِي الإِزَارِ ‏"

It was narrated that Hudhaifah said:

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'The Izar should come to the middle of the shins and the calf. If you insist, then a little lower, and if you insist, then a little further down, but the Izar has no right to (come to) the ankle." This is the wordings of Muhammad.

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan al-Nasa'i

قَوْله ( مَوْضِع الْإِزَار ) أَيْ الْمَوْضِع الْمَحْبُوب لِإِزَارِ الْمُؤْمِن وَالْمُرَاد الرَّجُل دُون الْمَرْأَة ( إِلَى أَنْصَاف السَّاقَيْنِ ) الظَّاهِر أَنْصَاف السَّاقَيْنِ بِدُونِ إِلَى لِتَكُونَ مَحْمُولًا عَلَى الْمَوْضِع فَلَعَلَّ التَّقْدِير مَوْضِع الْإِزَار مَوْضِع أَنْ يَكُون الْإِزَار إِلَى أَنْصَاف السَّاقَيْنِ ثُمَّ حُذِفَ مَا حُذِفَ لِدَلَالَةِ الْمَذْكُور عَلَيْهِ ( وَالْعَضَلَة ) أَيْ بِفَتَحَاتٍ كُلّ لَحْم صُلْبَة مُكْتَنَزَة فِي الْبَدَن وَمِنْهُ عَضَلَة السَّاق وَهِيَ الْمُرَاد هَاهُنَا ( وَلَاحِق لِلْكَعْبَيْنِ ) أَيْ لَا تَسْتُر الْكَعْبَيْنِ بِالْإِزَارِ وَالظَّاهِر أَنَّ هَذَا هُوَ التَّحْدِيد وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ هُنَاكَ خُيَلَاء نَعَمْ إِذَا اِنْضَمَّ إِلَى الْخُيَ…

That which is below the ankles is in the Fire (of Hell). Allah will not look at one who allows his lower garment to trail out of vanity. [Abu Dawud].

"‏إزارة المسلم إلى نصف الساق، ولا حرج -أو لا جناح- فيما بينه وبين الكعبين، فما كان أسفل من الكعبين فهو في النار، ومن جر إزاره بطرا لم ينظر الله إليه‏"

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took hold of the lower part of my calf or his calf and said: ‘This is where the lower wrap should come to. If you insist, then lower, and if you insist, then lower, but the lower wrap has no right to (come to) the ankle.’”

"‏ هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الإِزَارِ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ ‏.‏ فَأَسْفَلَ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَأَسْفَلَ فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَلاَ حَقَّ لِلإِزَارِ فِي الْكَعْبَيْنِ ‏"

Abu Huraira reported God’s messenger as saying, “The part of the lower garment which goes below the ankles is in hell." Bukhari transmitted it.

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ مِنَ الْإِزَارِ فِي النَّارِ» . رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ
