حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرًا يَقُولُ حِينَ مَاتَ الْمُغِيرَةُ وَاسْتَعْمَلَ قَرَابَتَهُ يَخْطُبُ فَقَامَ جَرِيرٌ فَقَالَ أُوصِيكُمْ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنْ تَسْمَعُوا وَتُطِيعُوا حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكُمْ أَمِيرٌ اسْتَغْفِرُوا لِلْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى لَهُ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يُحِبُّ الْعَافِيَةَ أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَإِنِّي أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُبَايِعُهُ بِيَدِي هَذِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَيَّ النُّصْحَ فَوَرَبِّ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ لَنَاصِحٌ
