حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ هَلْ خَضَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَرَ مِنْ الشَّيْبِ إِلَّا نَحْوًا مِنْ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ أَوْ عِشْرِينَ شَعْرَةً فِي مُقَدَّمِ لِحْيَتِهِ وَقَالَ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَشِنْ بِالشَّيْبِ فَقِيلَ لِأَنَسٍ أَشَيْنٌ هُوَ قَالَ كُلُّكُمْ يَكْرَهُهُ وَلَكِنْ خَضَبَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ وَخَضَبَ عُمَرُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ

I asked Anas b. Malik whether Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) dyed his hair. He said: He had but little white hair.

لَمْ يَرَ مِنَ الشَّيْبِ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً ‏.‏

“Anas bin Malik was asked: ‘Did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) dye his hair?’ He said: ‘He did not have any white hair apart from approximately seventeen or twenty hairs at the front of his beard.’”
